CHOOSE LIFE is seeking your help for a piece of research they are currently undertaking. You may have valuable experience and knowledge that could help, in respect of support given after a suicide.
Over the years of delivering ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) courses, Choose Life has become increasingly aware of the lack of resources to support people after a suicide in Argyll and Bute, and are seeking to find out more about what resources would be useful for those surviving suicide and those bereaved by suicide, alongside those professional services providing support to those at risk of suicide. We hope it will lead to actual resources available across Argyll and Bute.
Michaela Goan is seeking to gather as much information as possible about individual experiences of the period after a suicide or suicide attempt, both personal and professional, as a person at risk or as a carer. If you feel you are able to contribute in some way we would welcome your support.
Michaela will be using a number of collection methods, such as surveys, questionnaires, phone conversations and one to one or group meetings. If you, or someone you know, has an experience that you think would help this project, please contact Michaela at the Volunteer Centre office in Dunoon on 01369 700100.
