Hi there, two points about the extremely serious quiz (!)

1 the last Cal Mac leaves at 8.45pm, very sneaky of it - I only know  that as a friend was left standing one time!

2 there are many and varied ways of spelling Dunoon in Gaelic    (I am not saying how many might be correct!) 'cos I once won a   prize for finding the largest number of signs each with a different spelling at one of the previous MODs, probably around 1996 or maybe 2000. - that comp featured in the local paper and was organised by the late Brian Smith, former Maths teacher!

Cheers, Ally

Hi

I have just tried the quiz on Dunoon peeps and I was somewhat puzzled as to the answer re "how many zebra crossings in Dunoon" the answer being 8 !!!!!!!! Can you tell me where in Dunoon they are please as I certainly have not come across them in my travels around the town and I worked in the local Roads & Transportation office for over 11 years only recently retiring and that is the dept who would be responsible for them ?? I either need new specs or I am definitely missing something!!! can you enlighten me and put me out of my misery please?

Regards

Elizann

Best joke of the year, which happens to be a true story.

Mike was in Dunoon at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and walked out of Electrocom, looking up and down the street, trying to decide whether to go up to HBOS or down to Somerfields. A car is parked right opposite him. Brian (our friendly traffic warden) appeared and told him that he can't stay there between 9.30 and 10.30 a.m.

Puzzled, Mike shrugged his shoulders and apologised, saying that he didn't realise there were such restrictions in Dunoon. He assured Brian that he would move on immediately and did so, walking back to Somerfield where his car was parked.

What's our town coming to, when a pedestrian can't even stop for a few minutes on the pavement????

Hello Everybody at Dunoon Peeps, hope you are all well.

Thankyou for the wee message on our "Guestbook" and the offer of a helping hand--you can never have enough hands as you probably well know!

As you have seen we still have along way to go -- but getting there bit by bit and having a lot of fun doing so. (as well as the hard work of course!)

Lets keep in touch as it would be very good if you would consider having your own Dunoon Peeps programme on the radio when we are up and running on air.

Talk soon
